“SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCE, IMPROVE YOUR CAPACITY” YOUTH TRAINING IN ANKARA, TURKEY

The attendance concerned 35 participants, from Italy, Turkey, Spain, Portugal, and the Netherlands. The main aim of the project was to share our general experience to improve our ability to build and support a project. Our accommodation was in the Pursaklar neighborhood, inside a governance building affiliated with the Ministry of Family, Work, and Social Services, called “Casgam”.

The sessions. Participants’ main aim consisted of creating, in groups, a session concerning the topic of improvement, interactivity, fun, or creativity. The main skills to take into consideration for creating every project were communication, time management, cooperation, and understanding.

My group participated in the creation of the “Interactivity session”, which consisted of a physical energizer and two main activities, which were oriented toward the development of communication and trust, and a final reflection made with all the participants. I felt happy and calm, I appreciated the opportunity to discuss our ideas in a roundtable and it helped me because I analyzed the situation from a perspective that I would not have thought of by myself.

The participants. I found the group participating and interested in all the activities. The composition was pretty interesting: it covered all ages and backgrounds, jobs and hobbies, and interests.

Starting from the Turkish group, which was always caring and helpful, to the Spanish group, which proudly represented its own culture, all the people gave their contributions to the good results of the project itself. Mustafa, the tutor, and Damla, the facilitator, worked in a proper and considerate way, always on time with their communications and expectations, and caring on the human side.

The Italian time was nicely blended and characterized by the presence of two participants with foreign origins, Hamza and Kemal: this was not a barrier but a beautiful opportunity for us to understand how our culture can be perceived by external eyes. My conclusions. It was the first time for me, Ilaria, as a participant in youth exchange or training courses: I have some main experiences when it comes to cultural exchange, but I never had the chance before to explore an environment like this one.

Even if I still need to completely realize what happened and how this impacted my life, I can proudly say that what I have found in this project was more than a group, but a sort of family itself: I had people with an open-minded mentality that always approached things creatively and enthusiastically, ready to accept people for what they are and operate with them no matter what.

There was no space for darkness or closeness, even problems, for how small they were, solved with a funny, reasoned, and thoughtful way of being. We had plenty of time inside and outside the sessions to understand and discover each other, share our similarities and differences, and create bridges between ourselves. I will always have a good memory of the time that I had, as it also helped me to understand myself better as a person and to know others as well. For me, it was a starting point that will probably lead me to other beautiful experiences. Ilaria Mosetti, 15.12.2023

LOCAL WORKSHOP IN BARI FOR SLAM POETRY

In the framework of the Youth Festival we had the opportunity to speak about benefit of international mobility and the just concluded educational project More Than Just Words 2020-2-SK02-KA105-002530. A training course for 30 youth workers was implemented in Szeged, Hungary. The goal of the course was to teach youth workers how to use Slam Poetry to engage young people in democratic life and self-expression.👥

SLAM poetry, also known as spoken word poetry, is a form of poetry that has many benefits. One of the most significant benefits is empowerment. SLAM poetry provides a platform for individuals to express themselves and share their stories in a powerful and meaningful way. It can give a voice to those who have been marginalized or silenced in society.

SLAM poetry also encourages creativity. Writing and performing poetry can help individuals tap into their innermost thoughts and emotions, allowing them to express themselves in new and exciting ways.

In addition to personal benefits, SLAM poetry can also foster a sense of community and belonging. SLAM poetry events bring people together, providing an opportunity for individuals to connect with others who share their experiences and interests.

The training activities were divided into two groups: social and training. Social activities included a welcome evening, team building, an intercultural night, and a farewell party. Training activities included youth participation, mock debates, presentations on democratic values and non-formal value matrices, and self-reflective poems.During the event we were encouraging young people to practice Slam Poetry and write about Erasmus+ and benefits of youth mobility . The activities was developed with the support of Giada Rox Cracco that was participant in the project. As well as Francesco Perlini,Davide Ricca,Lucrezia Laudenzi,Gaia Tassinari.

here’s a short slam poem about Erasmus:

Erasmus, oh Erasmus The program that opens doors

To new cultures and new horizons

The chance to study abroad and explore

From the streets of Paris to the canals of Venice

Erasmus takes you on a journey

To learn new languages, make new friends

And expand your mind with new learning

You’ll see the world in a different light

With Erasmus, you’ll broaden your sight

From the Northern lights to the Mediterranean

You’ll travel far and wide with endless potential

Erasmus, oh Erasmus It’s not just a program, it’s a lifestyle

You’ll come back a new person with a fresh perspective

Ready to take on the world with style

The project’s impact was expected to reach beyond the training course and into partner countries. A session on Youthpass and Erasmus+ was included, and daily reflection and evaluation allowed participants to evaluate their own learning process.@eurotenderassociation @innonet.sk

INCLUSION FOR EMPOWERMENT IN GEORGIA

Let us share with you our freshly finished project “Inclusion for empowerment” – a training course, under Erasmus + program, which we hosted in March from 18th till 25th, 2023. As it happened to be a second stage, most of our participants, 37 youth workers from 5 countries, already knew each other, and we also welcomed new friends among us. Together we could focus on our main topics: Inclusion and Self-Development.As our main goal was inclusion, we were delighted that a certain number of participants with visual impairment accepted our invitation to the project to attend, to share and to enjoy altogether!

Some youth workers have been focusing on supporting people with visual difficulties for many years and their experience was enriching to all of us.

All the information was presented by interesting workshops educating others on topics, such as sports and games for visually impaired people, guiding dogs and general interaction tips and recommendations. Also, our guest speakers Mariam Mikiashvili, Vocational education policy expert for disabled people, and Esma Gumberidze, Member of the Advisory Council of Persons with Disabilities of Tbilisi, raised our awareness on legal challenges of visually impaired people.Beside activities linked to the inclusion, we explored different activities promoting teamwork, self-confidence, emotion management and communication skills.

One of the pleasant activities was a Beyond ceramics workshop by Irina Salmina, who introduced us to some very basic pottery trivia and showed us a few techniques in order to make our own masterpieces.

We sincerely thank our guest speakers Mariam Mikiashvili, Esma Gumberidze and Irina Salmina as well as all our partner organizations NGO Genesis from Czech Republic , Sağlam Düşüncə Gənclər Təşkilatı • SDGT from Azerbaijan , E U R O S U D from Italy and RVNB “Redzi mani” Latvia !
