“The problem which all involved partner organizations see is from one side the high number of groups within our societies who face higher risk of social exclusion. From another site, the high rate of unemployed(which is one of the factor provided to social exclusion).

All of involved in the project organisations cooperate with such disadvantaged groups of people. These vulnerable and marginalised groups include but are not limited to:migrants, ethnic minorities(including internally displaced people IDP and refugees),homeless, jobless, women. All those involved, work also in the areas marked by exclusion-combating regional inequalities, tackling disadvantages faced by rural areas, and regenerate deprived areas and disadvantaged neighbourhoods.Immagine gratuita di gambe, gruppo, macinato

We strive to prevent exclusion and promote social inclusion. In addition,we also work to develop entrepreneurial attitudes in the local communities in which we operate,to prevent the risk of exclusion.

Involved in the project partner organisations think that volunteering projects may be essential in the near future as after the epidemic of COVID -19,we will face a socio-economic crisis, many companies will probably collapse and thus increase unemployment rates in all of the European countries.

We are committed to do everything necessary to meet this challenge in a spirit of solidarity. We would like to improve the skills of disadvantaged people in a variety of ways that will make them more skilled participants in their society as well as at European labour market(effective change agents at whatever level they decide to work on later,in their own communities, nationally or internationally).

Through the project “Changes & Chances” implementation we would like to give the possibility of informal education and to forming moral values of youngsters with fewer opportunities and youngsters from disadvantaged areas.A lot of youngsters in those areas do not have too many possibilities so we would like to give access to leisure time activities with better quality and to educational materials that promote civic development.

We will strengthen the support offered to fewer opportunities people(disabled people,IDP people, refugees, youngsters with economical, geographical, social or educational difficulties, minorities etc.)through free time activities.

That in turn,we hope, will affect the motivation of youngsters with fewer opportunities and vulnerable groups of local communities to become more participative and active in the local community and also as volunteers(locally and internationally)opening their minds, horizons and expectations towards their future.Through promotion of the cultural diversity and breaking stereotypes we will strongly integrate vulnerable and marginalised groups into all spheres of social life and incidentally improving their position in the society.Immagine gratuita di bambini, carino, discendenti

The upcoming recession due to the Covid-19 situation, means that in upcoming months Europe and whole world can face to the crisis similar like on 2008-2009 or even worse. That’s why we want to provide ESC volunteering opportunities for 12 young people from Poland for different periods of time and in different locations. To promote their learning about those countries and to learn about its cultures and people. To increase their professional as well as their social and personal skills to increase their employability and personal development.

The volunteer will obtain practical skills like working with disadvantaged youngsters and local communities from depraved areas. They will also understand how important it is to provide shelter to those who run away from war/conflict area and its cruelty, seek asylum outside their country.

They will acquire a better cultural understanding, particularly on issues relevant to migration from conflict torn or underdeveloped areas and understand the complexity of finding a durable solution for each case. The volunteers and target groups will become more open and tolerant. The project will affect greater
openness to otherness and differences, for fewer opportunities people. We believe that through the project we’ll make a bigger impact for more active participation in society, involvement of local inhabitants in volunteering in favour of people with fewer opportunities. The target groups will gain knowladge and skills in the field of entrepreneurship, innovation and business through cycle of the workshops, they’ll become more curios for new innovations, trends, new jobs and entrepreneurship attitudes, will focus on personal learning goals and talents they already have and just have to develop.

Cultural Diversity is one of the most important values of nowadays Europe as the European community is getting more and more multicultural day by day due to the migration flows.Volunteers and the local young people involved in their activities will increase their understanding of present and future Europe putting stress on the value of Cultural Diversity in EU which is an integral part of the concept European Citizenship.

The project will engage in total 12 volunteers from Poland, whose volunteering project will be a long-term mobility between 6 up to 12 months. In the project will be involved 7 volunteers with fewer opportunities. The project is a cooperation of 7 partner organisation:Supporting organisation FRSP from Poland and 6 Host organisations:

-SOPRO,Portugal,Barcelinhos
-UTOPIA,Lebanon,Tripoli
-CCMS,Alaverdi in Armenia
-EURO SUD,Bari in Italy

My experience during the project – Martyna

I’m Martyna from Poland and I will spend the next 9 months volunteering in EUROSUD. I’m the first volunteer in this project and I’m happy to share my experience in Italy.

May 2021

I arrived in Triggiano mid May and spent my first two weeks getting to know the town, people and discovering what kind of activities I will be doing in the upcoming months. I also had a chance to participate in a cleanup day at the beach along with the people from an association called Vieni con me. At the end of the month EUROSUD hosted 5 guests from Czech Republic and 3 from France for the ‘Attracting Tomorrow’s Adults Today and Erasmus’ project. Along with other volunteers I had the chance to participate in the training and took part in a Scavengers hunt in Bari organized by Czech participants.I had been given an opportunity to start my job in Spazio 13, where I met other volunteers and children I will be working with during the next months. I can’t wait to see what else is waiting for me in Italy.

June 2021

My second month in Italy let me discover new cities. During every weekend I managed to visit different places, starting with Molfetta,Monopoli,Alberobello, Lecce, Matera, Trani, Foggia, Pompeii, Barletta and finishing my month in Rome. My level of italian was getting better and better everyday. During the first part of the month I focused on creating social media content for a food bank, in which I work two days a week. I also had a great time getting to know everybody at Spazio13, where the summer camp has just started. During the second part of the month I helped organise “International Meetings With Entrepreneurship II” in Barletta. It was a great opportunity to learn how to manage a large group of people, lead entertaining activities for the international community and meet people from different countries.I also had a chance to be their tour guide in Bari and showed them places I have discovered since coming here.

July 2021

July started full of new activities and opportunities such as a book promotion, new  activities during the summer camp with children in Spazio13, starting with role-playing games and water games. Having started cooperating with two new associations in Capurso, I had a chance to get involved in the Book Crossing project with APS Circonferenze and create new games for children in Progetto Pleiadi. One of the highlights of the month was welcoming my new roommate- Aleksandra, another polish volunteer who has just started working with me in Capurso. Charming Italian summer has come and I finally had a chance to spend my free days on many of the beautiful beaches in Puglia and enjoy the sun.

August 2021

August has brought me new projects, such as Open Village in Capurso. Once again I was able to meet local children and teach them something new and learn dancing moves during the activities offered by the village. Sadly it was the time to say goodbye to some of the children in Bari as summer camp in Spazio13 has come to an end. As time never stops during the European Solidarity Corps full of energy, me and other volunteers planned our new activities that we will start in September – camp for children in Triggiano and helping with English homework in Capurso. During the second part of the month I took some time to plan new activities for September and in my spare time I travelled. Rested and relaxed, I’m looking forward to my new task in the upcoming months.

My experience during the project- Aleksandra

August 2021

I’m Aleksandra, from Poland and I’m taking part in a long-term project – 9 months, where I will be a volunteer at EUROSUD. I came to Triggiano in the second half of July. I spent my first weeks getting to know the town and neighborhood. Besides Triggiano, I was discovering beautiful Bari and area near my work place – ESE office at the University of Bari. In the first weeks,   I was working on website translation and office tasks. I also took part in activities related to the Capurso commune. Where I conducted language games and taught English to children from Capurso Open Village, Party time ASD Football Capurso and Progetto Pleiadi. In my spare time I was discovering the charms of Puglia and also I visited Rome.  Looking forward for more amazing adventures and experiences in Italy.

September 2021

September was a very special month for me. I felt an inner change and finally found my place. September was also very busy. I was working in ESE office and helping in the recruitment process for a new Erasmus intern. I gained a lot of practical knowledge and it was a great experience for me. In the meantime I was supporting Summer Camp Triggiano, where I met really amazing people. At the end of the month me and my housemate organised a Polish dinner for our new Italian friends. They fall in love with Polish cuisine. I’m starting October with positive energy and a head full of ideas.

Summer is not over in Puglia 🌞
