The project was developed with continuous interaction in mind from start till the end. Starting by sharing information, opinions and ideas based on some materials given by the organizers and that will hopefully evolve as we draw closer to the exchange week – these discussions will be targeted at the three objectives that we aim at achieving. Also we will discuss further optimization of our workshops and if any necessary changes might be needed working together with the selected participants.

We aim to strengthen the partnership between the partner associations by sharing feedback, good practices and collaborating in different areas.

The impact of the project will be greater by spreading the final product in a larger group of youngsters who face the obstacles identified in the project, through online means of promoting and events organized by our partners, measuring in which way the message was received, using feedback forms.

INTERNATIONAL MEETING IN ESKIŞEHIR, TURKEY “ALL TOGETHER FOR SOLIDARITY”FEBRUARY 20-29 !CLOSED!

Throughout the activity of the Youth Exchange, there will be a special focus on generating knowledge through non-formal education methods.
The non-formal educational methods will throughout the activity take many forms through different methods, some of those will be:
Research work both through online research, interviews with relevant organizations and people. This will be used throughout the whole project both in the research and understanding of EU, the refugee situation in different countries and in the areas and ways of doing civic engagement.
Generating critical thinking, critical questions, and critical discussions. This will also be used throughout the whole project as followup part to the research method. Here it will be encouraged that participants always ask the question: Why? Why did EU and the European countries react as they did in regards to refugees, Why should young people create civic engagement and be active citizens in their society, Why is it relevant to talk about solidarity in the world we have today? The critical approach will be relevant to find the answers together. It will be a critical approach to the research that is found, but also to each other when discussing. It will be a way to challenge each other’s understanding and mindset.
Storytelling/communication through creative materials. The participants will with the online platform they create be encouraged to use it for telling their own thoughts and the stories they meet during the Youth Exchange. Here there will be provided materials and the knowledge of several people with different talents in doing creative work. It will be up to the participants to find their own story and the way to tell it, but help, guidance and idea generating workshops will be provided during the Youth Exchange.
Another method that will be used through the whole Youth Exchange is creating cooperation both in small groups, but also in the common group. The online platform that will be created in the project is a product that must include and integrate all participants. Therefore much of the learning in the Youth Exchange will depend on cooperation workshop to make it possible for the participants to learn how to listen, how
to be inclusive and how to be constructive.

INTERNATIONAL MEETING IN GEORGIA BAKURIANI “DIGITAL MEDIA TOOLS FOR SUCCESSFUL DISSEMINATION” MARCH 12-17 !CLOSED!

The project will take place in Bakuriani, Georgia and it will bring 28 participants from different 8 EU and neighboring countries: Georgia, Italy,Croatia, Malta, Spain, Armenia, Ukraine and Azerbaijan.

The planned activity is mainly based on actual obstacles the partner organizations face while disseminating their actions and the particular topics regarding social media they wish to get expertise. Therefore, we decided that it would be the best if the participants of the both stages were same with the following profiles: NGO members, youth workers, trainers, project managers who were responsible for also managing social media of their organizations and expressed extremely high interest for learning effective dissemination tools.

We, along with our partners, agreed that the priority would be given to those participants who were actively involved in advertising work of their organization, had an experience in social media management and would use the skills gained during the project in their professional life.

What results and impact  ?

The project “Digital Media Tools for Successful Dissemination“ fully supports the idea of ERASMUS+ to share the knowledge to those outside the project. As the demand on getting better communication in Social Media is in its peak, the project will help the participants from different NGOs to reorganize and modernize their social channels and to start communication with their audiences and beneficiaries in effective way.

As researches and statistics show, usage of Social Media in European countries increase and decrease according to the region, political or social issues.

The project is designed in order to establish a good manner of creating, exchanging and co-working on creative solutions with the help of social networks to any representative of these countries and stimulate them develop in better way. As the idea of Social Media remains very trendy today, the challenge of understanding and using it effectively pushes the project to become successful in western European countries both with high and low social media involvement.

The project Don’t fear to differ! aims to bring youth from six different European countries to work together on overcoming the negative consequences arising from hate speech, intolerance and disrespect. The objectives of the project are as follows:

  • To raise awareness of the negative consequences arising from being intolerant to others

  • To educate youth to self-respect and tolerance towards the “other”

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE “IMPROVING EUROPEAN DEMOCRACY”SOFIA , BULGARIA   !CLOSED!

The educational seminar “Improving European Democracy” to be held in Sofia  will meet the need to inform the new European generation how the EU works and the rights and obligations the EU citizenship brings in order to encourage them to vote in the European elections and contribute to boost the turnout.

The political, social, economic and cultural aspects that the course addresses will contribute to shape a vision how to strengthen European democracy and counteract the rise of nationalist and eurosceptic movements who deny the concept of European citizenship and are against further European integration.

The European citizens expect from the renewed European institutions to inject real and renewed impetus into the European process. However,  the current European consensus seems increasingly incapable of providing the right vision for a successful continuation of the European project.

The only possible way to relaunch the European political project is by renewing its goal and foundations. The European Union is not only an alliance of States concluding international agreements, but a source of rights and protection for its citizens.

The EU is the only way to give power and the ability to make decisions democratically to the European citizens. The development of a European Public Sphere is a key challenge in the EU integration process. Its structure and dimension influence the democratic quality and the social cohesion within EU.

Citizenship, democracy, and human rights are fundamental concepts in Europe. Every citizen has rights, duties, and opportunities to contribute to the life of our society. This goes hand in hand with citizenship education.

The international seminar “Improving European Democracy” to be held in Sofia in the spring of 2020 will provide young people with knowledge and skills for active participation in the democratic life of the union and contribute to shape a vision how to improve European democracy and reaffirm the concept of active European citizenship.

The better young Europeans understand their rights as EU citizens, the more informed decisions they can take in their personal lives. This will lead to a more vibrant democratic life in Europe at all levels.

The participants will acquaint with all direct and indirect instruments of citizen involvement, from the European Citizens Initiative to the structured dialogue with civil society as well as with the campaign of the European federalists to promote a structural reform of the European Union, which could lead to a more coherent and stronger Union, to more intensified European integration. The ideas and knowledge generated during the seminar can be used by every participant and be implemented at local level.

Methodology: Panel discussions, working groups, lectures, plenary sessions, simulation games and information market will be some of the methods used to debate these issues. The ideas and knowledge generated during the seminar can be used by every participant and be implemented at local level.

Reconnecting youth to nature can be a lever of a profound change towards mitigating the environmental crisis by creating value and work; building a new ecological, fair and shared market; re-launching citizen participation; even promoting new paths and new spaces for democracy.

INTERNATIONAL TRAINING COURSE  „ HIKES+ CONNECTING PEOPLEKEŽMAROK, TATRA MOUNTAINS, SLOVAKIA OCTOBER 17-25  !CLOSED!

The main idea of the project is to bring youth-work more „beyond 4 walls” by developing and implementing different kind of „HIKES+” with young people in our communities. We believe that activities and adventures outdoors combined with combining it with quality non-formal learning and managing well the group dynamics work can create magic!

So, therefore, we want to implement this project in order to reach positive outcomes both (1) for the individuals (empowering young people, increasing their physical and mental well-being), (2) the group (promoting better cooperation, support and learning with/from each other) as well as (3) the community and local environment (creating better knowledge and understanding of the places and nature, appreciation and feeling of belonging and wish to be more active as members of their communities).Escursionista, Walker, Rambler, Lego, A Piedi

Due to long-term character of the project and the fact that we want to focus on working with young people in concrete communities over extended period of time, it is essential for us that partner organisations carefully consider what participants to involve in this first training.

While we understand that  participants from small organizations in kick-off training might be too much, when composing a team, we highly encourage you to consider also other potential partners that you would like to cooperate with later on with the project (local partnerships…).

These could be your colleagues from other youth organizations (may be some who do not have the opportunities/experiences with international projects yet?!), active youngsters (18+) that you see a potential as leaders or even TEACHERS, social workers, extra-curricula activity providers or community/outdoor enthusiasts.

Usually we would emphasize the importance of knowing English well, nevertheless, this time IF you think that you want to give the opportunity to 1 great community activist that does not know the language well and are ready to learn, then if the other 2 are ready to support, we are happy to include new-comers J!!!

INTERNATIONAL YOUTH EXCHANGE  „ EXPRESS U! II -A NEW CULTURAL ENGAGEMENT TO SOCIAL INCLUSION ”AVEIRO, PORTUGAL  !CLOSED!

acciaio, allenare, architettura

According to Eurostat, in 2018, 21.7% of the European population was at risk of poverty or social exclusion. In this group, young people (16-29 years) represent 26.7% of the entire population in this situation. Often these problems are accompanied by situations of exclusion related to ethnic, religious, gender, economic, geographical, social, etc. issues.

For the consortium, it is extremely relevant to create a range of actions, initiatives and
dynamics that foster social inclusion, tolerance and diversity, through participatory and integrative methodologies that bring young people from different contexts into interaction, enabling them to (self-)acquire competences and values that are fundamental to their full development by providing opportunities for expression, mobility and learning which are urgently needed.

Therefore, the social problem that this project intends to solve is the social exclusion of young people with fewer opportunities that, due to the absence of effective methods to promote social inclusion and tolerance, end up being apart from society.

This is an important and neglected problem, so it is urgent to create dynamics, actions and policies that eradicate it and this exchange aims to contribute to this through cultural dynamics. All organisations involved in this project are committed to their work in the context of youth, social inclusion, diversity and culture and have experience in developing Erasmus + projects. This is a solid and motivated partnership to improve and transform the social reality of disadvantaged young people through culture.

The consortium understands that the first exchange was a success and was able to respond to the problem and needs outlined.

This second edition aims to broaden the results and positive impacts of youth exchange and thus create a new opportunity for other disadvantaged young people to experience the experience of participating in an international exchange and enjoying all the advantages it offers.

With this project, participants with fewer opportunities will feel valued and belonging, which will foster self-acceptance and awareness of opportunities regardless of their obstacles and social contexts. The achievement of the proposed objectives, outcomes and impacts will enable the construction of a future generation
more aware to tolerance, equality, respect, inclusion and diversity.

“ACTIVE CITIZENS OF TOMORROW”ERASMUS+ INTERNATIONAL TRAINING COURSE IN POLAND !CLOSED!

According to cross-national research conducted in 2019 by Magdelina Kitanova from the University of Southampton, youth political disengagement continues to be a major issue facing contemporary democracies.
Turnout at elections is decreasing, young people do not want to engage in traditional political institutions, which puts them at risk of exclusion from the political process. This trend is also something we observe as youth workers, as young people do not feel strong connection with wider societies, feel powerless facing political system and democratic procedures. It leads to their diminishing role not only in local communities, but also in European society. At the same time young people are engaged in many global movements and youth-led
organisations (strike for climate, extinct rebellion, etc.). They engage politically in different, unconventional ways outside of the traditional political system.
The question is then if we want to change the system or the young people, who do not fit together? Perhaps we,as youth workers, can find a way to make those two worlds come together again?
Aim of the project will be to explore reasons why young people got dis-attached from societies, what possibilities there are for them to participate in democratic processes and how can they bring their problems to political agendas on local, national and European levels, and what new ways of social engagement are interesting to young people. To ensure wider scope of experience and different perspectives we have engaged partner organisations with different backgrounds, working with very different groups of young people, including refugees,
migrant, and youth with disabilities.Aeroporto, Viaggiatori, Persone, Business, Volo

Seminar “Active Citizens of Tomorrow” will be implemented from 2 to 9.11.2020. As a venue for the activity we have selected an international youth centre in Krzyzowa, Poland. The seminar will gather 30 youth workers from 9 partner organisations.
Participants of the seminar will be members, co-workers and volunteers of partner organisations. They were selected among people active in local actions of partners and those who know challenges of local youth work the best. Participants were also involved directly into creation of this project proposal and it was shaped to meet their needs and educational gaps.
All participants of the seminar are over 18 and able to freely communicate in English and understand source documents we will work with during the seminar.
Some of participants come from disadvantaged backgrounds (they belong to national minorities, live in rural areas, or face disabilities), but it doesn’t affect their participation or engagement in the activity.

“BUILDING BRIDGES WITH EMPATHY”ERASMUS+ INTERNATIONAL TRAINING COURSE IN POLAND !CLOSED!

“Lack of empathy is related to aggression, delinquency, and lack of success in private and professional life.”We agreed that it is crucial to increase empathy in young people before they become adults.

All partners noticed challenges/problems young people face regarding aggression, lack of tolerance, lack of understanding, bullying, online aggression and bullying, social exclusion, lack of awareness on differences between people and their feelings, lack of humility, lack of emotion self-regulation that are caused because of lack of empathy or low level of empathy.

When speaking with youngsters, some showed higher level of empathy towards animals than towards other people -“it is hard to empathize with others” said one of the high school students in Dobre Rece association office. The idea came up to us after long-term discussion on – “why is it hard to empathize with others?”

This aim and objectives of the project link to objectives of Erasmus+ Programme, especially with the overall objectives of the renewed framework for European cooperation in the youth field (2010-2018), especially by empowering NGOs, creating network of organisations able to implement activities on European level, and by fostering professionalization of youth work in general.

As such it also directly meets objectives of the Key Action 1, in particular by improving professional competences of youth workers, increases capacities to trigger changes in terms of updating partner organisations, promotes non-formal education, improves quality of youth work in general (to benefit of young people in partner organisations’ target groups).
