INTERNATIONAL YOUTH MEETING “AREN’T WE ALL MISMATCHED SOCKS?” BISCEGLIE , ITALY 04-12 09 !CLOSED!
The project is the result of a shared visions and aimed towards bringing a group of youths together in order to take a look at the various reasons that can lead to conflicts ensuing as well as to discuss and brainstorm different solutions to lessen the amount of conflicts that break out. Youth will have a chance to voice their own opinions and take a more active role in society. We will discuss how conflicts on a social, national, regional and international level affect us and how we can come together to counteract the negative effects of such conflicts. We all know in the animal kingdom, ladybugs eat caterpillars. Alligators attack flamingos. Cats fight dogs. But when these unfriendly duos come together in a cartoon ,colouring book or in a fairy tale maybe, they become best buds. Just because they don’t naturally go together doesn’t mean they can’t be friends or understand and respect each other. These mismatched duos ,teach us to embrace their differences, and those of their peers.
This is the mission behind this project proposal. By gathering young migrants, ngo representatives and young people involved in youth organizations, this exchange aims to share, discuss and elaborate migrants and refugees issues into youth local context. Furthermore one of the major factors resulting in the exclusion of migrants from society is the use of hate speech to create anxiety, concern and resistance. This is a clear reflection of the lack of education/information, which unfortunately may result in a form of brainwashing especially if it is faced by a lot of apathy.
Using non-formal learning we will explore basic concepts of hate speech, violence and the problems concerning migration crisis. We will be aiming to transform participating young people into activists -“No Hate Speech Ambassadors” and “Peace Ambassadors”.

INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE WEEK “FREELANCE CULTURE FOR TODAY’S YOUTH” TRAKAI , LITHUANIA 25-31 09 !CLOSED!
“Self-Employed” – quite often, we see this kind of job description on social networks profiles.
“Freelancer”. These peoples‘ numbers, working from home (or anywhere else in the world), are growing not only in the west, but are also spreading rapidly in Europe. However, questions about Freelancers and their activities still occur to even highly informed youth. Therefore, they ask “why is it worthwhile to be the boss for myself? How does it work? Where to start?”. For these and other questions we will find the answers during a Youth Exchange Project “Freelance Culture for Today’s Youth” (“FREElance Culture”).
This Youth Exchange will take place for 6 days in a cozy town – Trakai, Lithuania. The project will involve a group of 43 young people andand youth workers from Belgium, Greece, Portugal, Italy, Romania, and Lithuania.

and search for ways to cope with major emerging issues faced by Freelancers: loss of social skills, difficulties in communicating in a wider societal context, dwindling of self-confidence, as well as physical fitness and well-being.
We will use various work methods in order to establish the best conditions for learning during this Youth Exchange Project: introduction, cognition, explanation of experience, motivation, stimulation, active learning, assessment (and self-assessment), reflection, discussion, creative solution, group reports, group work, and other practical and theoretical methods.

INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE “ROAD TO THE FUTURE” SLOVAKIA STARA LUBOVNA 23-31 08 !CLOSED!
Nowdays international migration means migration of people from one country to another. We will focus on three different reasons for migration. Those will be: migration for study, migration for work and involuntary or imposed migration. Involuntary migration means that the authorities force the people to leave. Imposed means people decide to leave because of the hardships of their country (war, famine, discrimination, social inequalities, poor economic prospects etc.). We will also deal with legal and illegal immigration.
Before you come to the exchange we would like you to do some tasks to become familiar with the topic. Later you will be able to share the specifics of your country with others. The first task is to find out how can people migrate to your country for all three causes of migration:
what criteria do they need to meet to be able to immigrate, what are the ways in which your country helps them (financial, legal and other forms of help), how does your country encourage or discourage people from coming, how does it deal with illegal immigrants and what are the weakness of the system. We would also like you to find some statistics about immigrants: how many are there, for what reason, are they there legally, for how long are they staying, how many are seeking asylum and how many get it .
“BACK TO THE FUTURE” ERASMUS+ YOUTH EXCHANGE MEETING 19 – 26 08 TRNVA, SLOVAKIA !CLOSED!
Today, education systems around the world provide formal and obligatory education for 14-18 years on average. Individuals strive to improve themselves professionally in various ways during their education years, which basically equals to a third of their lifetime. Following graduation, however; they come face to face with an environment that is excluded in formal education. Many young individuals encounter scenarios where they struggle to adapt to the business world, unable know-how where to start, limited awareness about opportunuties and also with stress stemming from intense competitiveness and inability to find the right job, resulting in lack of happiness and dissatisfaction. According to Eurostat 2016 data, over 5 million people below 25 are unemployed and the intensive competitiveness causes educated youth to go for jobs in a sector different from their professional training at schools.
We have worked with 6 different organizations from countries that have some of the highest rates of unemployment in Europe and these organizations are willing to work and share experiences. In light of their contributions, we intend to achieve the following goals with our project:
– To raise awareness for the youth concerning dynamics in professional life which are not included in formal education systems,
– To introduce a new perspective leading to the path of new youth opportunities.
– Technical knowledge regarding EVS, Erasmus+ and learning applying procedures and spread it out.
– To perform interactive activities on key points that young people will need when achieving their goals in shaping their future.

INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR “LOCALIZER- PROJECTS FOR LOCAL COMMUNITY” JULY IN KOPANIEC, POLAND !CLOSED!
As society progresses more towards digital era many young people tend to neglect the physically active lifestyle and benefits it brings. The habit to spend free time in their comfort zone rather than live an active and healthy lifestyle seems like a more simple solution. The objective of this project is to show and prove that an active lifestyle is not a chore or an obligation but a more natural and healthy way of living.
There can be many reasons why young people choose not to lead this kind of life, for example not having the competences and initiative for starting with simple outdoor activities. This can be caused by the youth’s social, educational or financial background. Very often they are not aware of the simplicity and sheer benefits of such activities because of lack of support and encouragement from their family, school and friends. Another obstacle for leading an active lifestyle is the small variety of opportunities for actively spending their free time. Unless young people want to be part of mainstream sports, they face the problem of not being able to find what suits them best. A Youth Exchange project is a perfect tool to give the participants the encouragement that they might otherwise not get from their own communities and to introduce them to the simple and costless alternatives of staying active.
Different countries have different approaches in providing possibilities for outdoor activities. Having the project in Poland will have a big impact on local communities and their development. There is a lot of undiscovered potential in the nature around the populated areas to become an easily accessible environment for young people to be active. But this needs simple commitment and work done to the areas so they can reach their full potential. By working with participants of this project we aim to uncover and tap into the potential of the area.
The activities shall be organised mainly by young people and by all the partners involved in the project. Therefore, your input is more than welcome. As for now, the draft timetable foresees the following activities:
– Workshop on outdoor activities – why is it important, what is good about it. Comparing the different traditions of outdoors in different countries. Workshop on navigation and orientation / scavanger hunt in Kopanec.
– Intercultural landscaping: presenting the countries involved in the project.Hikes around to mark the trails and gather information for the booklet.Discussion on „Leave no trace” approach and other ways of protecting the nature.Workshop about creating outdoor activities in particiapnt’s home countries / communities.

CULINARY-DIPLOMACY 15TH – 25TH MARCH 2018 SLOVAKIA,PRESOV !CLOSED!
Main aim of the exchange is “to promote the use of food and cuisine as an instrument to create intercultural understanding in the hopes of improving interactions and tolerance, to enjoy diversity of the nations and cultures.”
International youth exchange gathering young people with interest in gastronomy, food, diplomacy and getting to know other cultures through their cuisines.Food is a universally vital part of our lives, representing history, traditions, and culture. Each of us relies on food not only to survive, but to comfort ourselves, communicate with others, and connect us to our forebears. The power and connection of food and nationalism leads us to consider the potential of using this link as a tool of intercultural education and understanding. During the youth exchange we will work with the concept, which is here called ‘culinary diplomacy’, as the use of food and cuisine as an instrument to create cross -cultural understanding in the hope of improving interactions and cooperation. The art of meeting with young people from different countries and envoys with one’s national cuisine is as old as youth exchanges themselves (mainly through the intercultural evenings), but as a non – formal method in youth work to conduct diplomacy it is still new and relatively untested. During the exchange we will explore, however, its popular ity is spreading and there is potential for greatly expanded use in the future of intercultural education and understanding. During the exchange, we will explore this concept, we will share our cuisines and impact of the food on the cultures and history of the countries. We will have also possibility to try cooking different foods and to share it with the local people from differ ent communities. The main parts of this activity are focused on the food, gastronomy and gastrodiplomacy . Food brings people together. Throughout time, national cuisines have spread organically through migration, trade routes, and globalization.
Others have been deliberately packaged and delivered to foreign audiences — both by state and non – state actors — as a means of expressing a country’s culture and values.
This form of cultural diplomacy, whether deliberate or unintentional, has been coined “gastrodiplomacy.” Gastrodiplomacy is the practice of sharing a country’s cultural heritage through food. Countries such as South Korea, Peru, Thailand, and Malaysia have recognized the seductive qualities food can have, and are everaging this unique medium of cultural diplomacy to increase trade, economic investment, and tourism, as well as to enhance soft power. Gastrodiplomacy offers foreign publics the opportunity to engage with other cultures through food, often from a distance. This form of edible nation branding is a growing trend in public diplomacy. We want to make a good promotion to the program because we strongly believe that youth mobility is eyes-opening and that it stronger the chances f young people for better life. There will be also a very good media coverage for the festival and therefore also for the project.

The main result of mobility is mobilized potential of the consortium in the field of cultural entrepreneurship and cultural management and initiated process of capacity building.
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT
Youth unemployment remains one of the biggest problems in EU: over 6 million young people are currently unemployed [Eurostat], all these are youths at higher risk of being socially alienated and those who face obstacles on the way to transfer their capital into social capital of Europe.
“EntreprenEUrship for CultYOUre” (EU4YOU) aims to enable environment for providing such youth with training in the field of social youth entrepreneurship with a special focus on cultural management.
The project will build capacity of youth organizations for improving access to the labour market of their direct target groups. The main aim of the project thus is to foster employability of young people through providing them with training on cultural management that will let them acquire capacities to respond to the needs of today’s rapidly evolving cultural field and apply it to the societal problems that classic government policies fail to respond efficiently.
“EU4YOU” will create environment and tools on cultural management education that will allow fostering entrepreneurial skills and mindsets of those young people who tend to be even more excluded from the labor market or can’t fully explore own potential due to their inner orientation to creativity and arts instead of more demanded labor market fields that provide employment opportunities.
The project is not focused on involving youth with fewer opportunities in mobility activities: the idea is to engage the youth workers who are able to maximize the dissemination potential to the bigger groups of youth with fewer opportunities within the activities held on local level. Thus, the young people with fewer opportunities will be involved in workshops organized by the youth workers in their home countries and dissemination activities planned within the project lifetime.
EXPECTED IMPACT OF THE PROJECT The youth workers participating in mobility activities will enhance their knowledge on social and cultural entrepreneurship, social innovation and learn how to use strategically creative arts for bridging the “Three C” of current-state society – culture, community and commerce. The youth workers will then act as multipliers bringing the knowledge to their local community and contributing to the toolkit content creation. The youth participating in local workshops will gain crucial transversal skills and learn how to apply the principles of project management to their creative ideas in practice, critical thinking and ability to approach societal problems in a multi-disciplinary way extensively using own creativity potential.
