AT FOOD BANK PROJECT

In an effort to alleviate growing food insecurity in the inner suburbs, Associazione di volontariato “Divina Misericordia” has opened Triggiano newest food bank project. Volunteers inspect, sort and repackage thousands of pounds of food each week.

Food Bank’s project is part of Associazione di volontariato “Divina Misericordia” main facility in Triggiano.
Volunteering in the sorting centre is a great opportunity to learn more about the scale of our work locally.

This support is essential in our efforts to distribute food to individuals and families facing food insecurity in our community.

The Sorting Center is open Monday – Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Who Can Volunteer?

The Food Bank relies on individuals and volunteer groups to help us in our warehouse, at food distribution sites, and at Food Bank events.

The volunteer opportunity is open to individuals who are 18 years or older. Volunteers are required to wear face masks and closed-toed shoes to participate.

The Food Bank Farm is dedicated to growing organic produce for the Food Bank’s local garden. Volunteers help prep and weed the soil, plant seeds, and eventually harvest the produce. Farm volunteers are essential in providing fresh, pure, organic.

The Food Bank Farm hosts volunteers every Wednesday morning during farm season.

This opportunity is open to individuals who are 18 years or older. Volunteers are required to wear face masks, closed-toed shoes, and long pants.

Food Bank project works towards long-term solutions to hunger and runs innovative programs to support people on low incomes. Associazione di volontariato “Divina Misericordia” distributes shelf-stable food, as well as fresh-cooked meals and provides support to over 50 families in need, including food banks and meal programs for shelters and drop-ins.
